A New Headshot: The best gift you can give your staff

It was my first time selling a home. I learned that Tuesdays are typically caravan days for realtors. A dozen realtors paraded through my newly listed house for sale. After poking around my house for an hour, a small collection of business cards was left on the kitchen table. The
cards all looked the same. The name of the brokerage, the contact info, some catchy “slogan,” and a tiny headshot.

As I fanned out the cards, I noticed that the headshot on each one looked nothing like the person I had seen in my home. Either the images were ten years old or they had been Photoshopped beyond recognition.

So why put off your most important marketing tool?

Let’s be honest– few people enjoy having their photo taken, especially for a business headshot. For some, it’s an awkward, uncomfortable, and even stressful experience, like going to the dentist.

Fortunately, we know how to make it fast, fun, and, most importantly, we know how to make you look fabulous in a brief photoshoot. I promise that whether it’s just you or 300 of your sales reps, you’ll look your best. Most importantly, you’ll appear as your authentic, beautiful self without excessive post-production filtering.

The over-retouched headshot is a recipe for a networking disaster. A client views your Linkedin profile pic, then doesn’t recognize you when you meet in person. Either the “glow filter” was set too high, or the photo was taken in 2008. Regardless, it’s not the real, authentic you.

Let’s be clear. We use Photoshop to enhance your gorgeous face. But we know when to stop enhancing!

If it’s been more than a year since your last headshot, it’s time for an update. Stop focusing on the past; let’s look at the fabulous, beautiful road ahead together!
